SMDI: An R Package to Perform Routine Structural Missing Data Investigations in Real-World Data

Administrative insurance claims databases are increasingly linked to electronic health
records (EHR) to improve confounding adjustment for variables which cannot be
measured in administrative claims. However, missing data in EHR confounding factors are frequent. This presentation discusses establishing a framework and tools to assess the structure of missing data processes in studies utilizing EHR data, and developing an R package to implement the framework and missing data investigations on a routine basis.
