This analysis describes the characteristics of patients dispensed montelukast or inhaled corticosteroids and evaluates the subsequent risk of intentional self-harm identified using International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM) diagnosis codes in the Sentinel Distributed Database. This analysis was conducted as an update to a previous Sentinel study that used International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM) codes to identify intentional self-harm events. The study period includes data from October 1, 2015 to June 30, 2022. We distributed this request to six Sentinel Data Partners on December 21, 2022.
